Join us on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 PM at the Lewis Latimer House for A Taste of Home: Queens Memoirists on Food and Culture.
Queens is "the world’s borough," and widely recognized as the most diverse place in the country! A Taste of Home celebrates this diversity and highlights the borough's rich history through the theme of food.
The event, hosted by writing instructor Abeer Hoque, will feature readings from six talented memoir writers and alumni of our "Writing on Race and Immigration" Workshop Series: Nadia Misir, Ahalia Persaud, Luvon Roberson, Josephine Amanda Sabater, Sunehra Subah, and Jessica Tang.
Guests will also enjoy a live musical performance by Peruvian-American interdisciplinary performance artist and creative director of Afro-Andean Funk, Araceli Poma.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Join us for this special celebration of culture and community!
