S.T.E.A.M Saturday: Abstract DNA Sculptures

  • Lewis Latimer House 34-41 137th Street Queens, NY, 11354 United States (map)

Join educators from the Lewis Latimer House as we celebrate the work of Queen's own Marie Maynard Daly. Daly was a biochemist whose contributions to science and medicine led to the identification of the structure and function of DNA and the relationship between high cholesterol and heart health. We’ll experiment with wire and watercolor to create abstract 3D wire sculptures inspired by Daly’s work related to DNA and the double helix.

STEAM Saturdays at LLH are free events, open to all ages and abilities, that feature a hands-on activity, a family-friendly scavenger hunt, and self-guided tours. Drop in any time between 12PM - 4PM! Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
