Did you know that Lewis Latimer House has a window with panels of stained glass? The Unitarian Church Latimer co-founded also featured stained glass! Join us for a workshop exploring how houses of worship—churches, synagogues, and mosques—have been illuminated using shape and color through the centuries. Together with our partners from the Museum at Eldridge Street, we will explore the history and science of stained glass and lightbulbs, their roles in sacred spaces (including the Eldridge Street Synagogue), and create kid-friendly stained glass you can take home!
STEAM Saturdays at LLH are free events, open to all ages and abilities, that feature a hands-on activity, a family-friendly scavenger hunt, and self-guided tours. Select a one-hour time slot between 11am and 3pm! Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
